  • Description: An unemployed and deeply indebted young man, Antonis, is forced to disguise himself as a woman in order to find a job. By the name Kleopatra, and without telling his fiancée Sofia, he gets a job as a maid in the residence of the elderly Mr. Iakovos. There he manages cleverly to foil the machinations of his boss’ two cousins, who want to dip into his fortune. By bad luck, Iakovos’ gardener, Kyriakos, falls passionately in love with Kleopatra and asks his boss to let him marry “her”. Things become complicated on Sofia’s side as well, since she thinks her beloved is cheating on her and wants to break off their engagement. In the end, Antonis reveals his disguise, exposes Mr. Iakovos’ cousins, earns his employer’s complete trust and favor - and marries Sofia.
